Disney D23 Expo 2024 Promos

Released in August 2024 during D23: The Ultimate Disney Fan Event, The Disney Lorcana D23 2024 promos celebrated Lorcana's first anniversary and its close connection to D23, where the game had first been revealed two years earlier. The centerpiece was a six-card D23 Collection sold for $99.99 as a boxed set at D23 and select Disney locations worldwide, featuring one alternate art card representing each of Lorcana’s first six sets. In addition, attendees who visited the Disney Lorcana booth at D23 could receive an event-exclusive Mickey Mouse - Playful Sorcerer (07/D23) promo that was not included in the boxed collection and was not distributed through the participating Disney retail locations. For collectors, that distinction makes the 2024 D23 release effectively a seven-card group, with the six-card anniversary collection serving as the commemorative set and Playful Sorcerer representing the considerably more event-specific D23 promo.

Promo Structure:

• Mickey Mouse - Playful Sorcerer (07/D23): Event-exclusive promo distributed to attendees visiting the Lorcana booth at D23 2024; it was not included in the D23 Collection box or distributed at the other Disney locations carrying the collection.
• Mickey Mouse - Brave Little Tailor (01/D23): D23 Collection; represents The First Chapter.
• Cinderella - Stouthearted (02/D23): D23 Collection; represents Rise of the Floodborn.
• Ursula - Deceiver (03/D23): D23 Collection; represents Into the Inklands.
• Bruno Madrigal - Undetected Uncle (04/D23): D23 Collection; represents Ursula's Return.
• Vanellope von Schweetz - Sugar Rush Princess (05/D23): D23 Collection; represents Shimmering Skies.
• Oswald - The Lucky Rabbit (06/D23): D23 Collection; previewed Azurite Sea before its release.

The six-card boxed collection used expanded artwork and premium treatments to create collector-focused versions of existing or upcoming cards, while Playful Sorcerer received its own distinctive treatment, including hot foil elements, a gold-foil name and a unique event promo presentation. Because the boxed collection was available at multiple Disney locations while Playful Sorcerer required attendance at D23 itself, the latter has a notably different distribution history and is arguably the closest 2024 counterpart to the event-exclusive nature of the original 2022 D23 Lorcana promos.
